How To Get There

By Sea

If you are coming into the Bahamas by sea you will be docking in Nassau at the Prince George Dock, there will be numerous taxi services located right at the dock as well as information for buses. The Discovery Cruise Line runs daily between Fort Lauderdale, Florida and Freeport, Grand Bahamas. It typically departs at 8:00am and returns at 10:00pm.

By Air

While there are 57 airports in the Bahamas, only 24 of them are an official point of entry. International airports include the Grand Bahamas International Airport, Lynden Pindling International Airport in Nassau and Exuma International Airport. There are several carriers that fly from Miami and Fort Lauderdale to Nassau, Grand Bahama and Freeport. -Thunderball Grotto is easily one of the top snorkeling and scuba diving sports in the Bahamas, thanks to its appearance in 2 James bond movies. -Junkanoo is held all over the islands and is something travelers should take part in if they are on the islands during the biggest celebration. Held on Bay Street in Nassau, the Junkanoo is a night parade that is held on Boxing Day (December 26th), New Years Day and once more in the summertime. Elaborate costumes, cow bells, goatskin drums and conch shells fill the streets, dancing is encouraged!
